The raw material is the wool of a specific breed of sheep, known for its small size and great strength. Making these rugs requires exceptional craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation, as well as a great deal of patience. Each of these unique pieces takes 1 to 4 months – depending on the size of the rug – to create. These rugs are woven in the Boujad region of Morocco. Their often bright and bold color palette is obtained from natural dyes extracted from local plants.
